Great Lakes 7s has recently committed to using the newly completed Amohoro Stadium in Kigali for the first edition of the Great Lakes 7s in 2026.

The Amahorо Stadium in Kigali is a modern sports and event venue with a seating capacity of 35,000 making it one of the largest stadiums in Rwanda. The stadium features state-of-the-art facilities, including a high-quality pitch and a second pitch outside the bowl, modern locker rooms, and an advanced lighting system. It also boasts a multipurpose design, hosting football matches, concerts, and cultural events. Its eco-friendly architecture incorporates sustainable practices to reduce environmental impact. The Amahoro Stadium symbolizes Rwanda's rapid development and commitment to excellence in sports and entertainment.

Great Lakes 7s Tournament Director Mike Mulroy commented that "being able to hold the Great Lakes 7s in the Amahoro Stadium is fantasatic news. The factilities are second to none and players of all abilities will look at the stadium in awe, what a magnificent arena for them to play."
